Tuition
Tuition
Tuition is collected on a semester-by-semester basis, at the time that students sign up. The present rate is $400 per semester course, which may or may not change in the future. Tuition may be paid by check, or (if through PayPal) by credit card, debit card, or transfer from one's bank account. To pay by check, please contact me by email so that I can provide you with the payment mailing address and, at the same time, enroll you in the course. Of the two payment options, I prefer payment by check since PayPal takes a percentage from each payment. But I do realize that many people prefer to pay by credit or debit, and so if this is your preference, please don't hesitate to click on this link and pay online: Sign-Up.

Be assured that you will be receiving a high-quality, university-caliber course and that your money is well spent. The rate is comparable to other competing but (from what I have seen) less complete Latin online web-conferencing courses.

I will do my best to make sure that students are provided with the environment and tutorial guidance necessary so that they may become competent Latinists and hopefully enjoy the process as well.
There is a discount for families that enroll more than one person in the course at one time. The discount is 10% off for every student after the initial student. And so, a family that enrolls three family members in the course will pay $400.00 for the first student, $360.00 for the second student, and $360.00 for the third student. If you are planning on enrolling more than one family member in the Carmenta course at one time, please contact me and I will send you a special PayPal invoice for the discounted amount. A payment button on the invoice will take you to a page where you can pay this discounted amount.
It is not my policy to provide refunds of tuition unless in response to extreme extenuating circumstances that emerge while it is still very early in the semester (the first two calendar weeks). Examples of such an emergency would be a medical problem that makes continuation of the class impossible or a sudden death of a friend or family member. Since I adhere strictly to this policy, I ask that you please make certain that you are ready to commit the time and energy involved in taking a 45 to 46 hour-per-semester class before signing up. I will be scheduling a certain number of periods based on enrollment numbers and each will require a considerable time commitment from me. If people were to drop from a section in any sizable number, and I were forced to provide them with the accompanying refunds, it would become far less economically feasible for me to teach that section. I will certainly do what I can to help you succeed in this class, to provide you with access to extra help or to help find ways to accommodate special needs you may have, but please, unless your circumstances are quite extreme, do not ask for refunds. They make my management of the class far more difficult, and I would prefer to focus my time and energy on teaching the class rather than dealing with outside exigencies.
